I’m so excited to be given this opportunity to try this brand new product from one of my favourite pet food companies, Wevuva!

Before I found Weruva, I have tried so many different brands and types of wet food with not much luck. One thing I did find out is that Kitty Mojito loves gravy based food! So my mission was to find her the best quality wet food out there and I found that in the B.F.F line!!

 

I learned about the Big 3 by partnering with Weruva (www.weruva.com)– a luxurious, natural pet food dubbed “people food for cats” who just launched a full line of gluten, grain, and carrageenan-free cat food in honor of International Cat Day. It’s called B.F.F. OMG! (that stands for Best Feline Friend, Oh My Gravy), and it’s all about preventing these Big 3 Cat Concerns ; picky eating, weight gain, and urinary tract issues.

Here are some useful nutritional information that I learnt from Weruva!

Keep these in mind when it comes to our feline’s food!

If your cat has any of these, you might want to consider changing their diet:

>> Is your cat picky? Picky eating is usually a problem with texture, since cats are carnivores whose tongues and teeth are perfectly evolved for meat-eating. It’s easy to see why a cat might dislike something without real shreds of meat—would you eat a steak with the texture of tapioca? Weruva’s food features these shreds of real meat right off the bone, which is why Kitty Mojito took to it like a duck to water (or a cat to gravy)!

>> Got a fat cat? The problem is in the kibble. It’s filled with unnecessary carbs, which are almost impossible for cats to process (they don’t produce amylase, an enzyme which helps humans digest their food). Weruva’s B.F.F. OMG! has no kibble to worry about because it’s 100% real meats in their true form.

>> UT-why? Urinary tract issues often stem from dehydration—even if you’re giving your cat plenty of water. In the wild, cats stay hydrated through the food they eat instead of what they drink. Cats are used to ‘eating’ their water—but most wet foods don’t have nearly enough hydration to keep them satisfied. All of the products in Weruva’s B.F.F. OMG! line are over 85% hydration, which satisfies Kitty’s hydration needs.

 

I love Weruva because they are considered ‘people food for pets.’ The new line of B.F.F. OMG! cans and pouches feature land proteins like boneless and skinless white chicken breast, salmon, beef, duck, lamb and more. All recipes are grain, gluten, and carrageenan free. And if you are a BPA-free home, check out the pouches because they are BPA-free. Best of all, my kitty loves it!

(PS: Carrageenan is a thickener and emulsifier made from seaweed, that while natural, induces gastric inflammation when processed by the intestinal tract in isolation from its natural state)

I am a very fussy pet mom who spends a lot of time researching pet food and reading labels at the pet stores. It is very important to me that my pet eats quality food. It could cost $0.50 a can or $3 a can, all that matters to me is that the list of ingredients are filled with the nutrients that Kitty actually needs.

Of course, the taste test is the most crucial. Kitty just gobbled up the BFF OMG as soon as I put it in her bowl! Her favourite so far is the ‘CRAZY 4 U’ chicken and salmon in gravy and ‘DATE NIGHT’ which is duck and salmon in gravy!

As I shared about this on Kitty’s Instagram (@kittymojito), I have had several requests to let readers know about the actual texture and consistency of the products as well as how Kitty reacted to it.

Here are my thoughts (along with Kitty’s great taste testing skills!) on some of the flavours we tried!

Product: SEEYA SOONER – Chicken and Tuna dinner in gravy

Verdict: The consistency was great. It was quite runny so it’s wonderful for kitties that love gravy based food. You can still see some chunks of meat in there and the first few ingredients are chicken broth, chicken and tuna. I reduced the dry food and gave her this entire pouch in a feeding. Two paws up for this one!

PRODUCT: CIAO BABY – Chicken and Shrimp dinner in gravy

Verdict: This was an instant hit as the combination of chicken broth, chicken, tuna and shrimp was a definite winner. Like the previous flavour, you will find it has a very generous gravy base so it is very easily licked up.

PRODUCT: PURR-FECT PLANNING – Chicken, Turkey and Salmon dinner in gravy

VERDICT:  Turkey is not a favourite with Kitty. It’s a hit and miss. However, she really loved this one. It could be the fact that there was salmon in it but she ate it up in no time.

PRODUCT: LOVE MUNCHKIN – Chicken and Pumpkin dinner in gravy

VERDICT: Another favourite! I love to add pumpkin to Kitty’s food when I can because I find that it really helps with her digestive issues. It keeps her eliminations regular and normal.

 

In conclusion, I would like to say that I will continue to feed Weruva BFF Oh My Gravy line to Kitty as it is, by far, one of the best wet foods that I have come across. This is a great line of food for kitties that have trouble chewing as the gravy makes everything soft and palpable as well as for any kitties that prefer a more liquid consistency to pate!
