The Devil’s Perspective: Unveiling Veronica Preston’s Debut Novel

Hello, Readers! It’s me, Kitty Mojito, back on the scene with a brand new interview! 

Today, I’m hanging out with Veronica Preston. She is a Canadian indie author. We will chat about her brand new novel, ‘The Book of the Devil’. Get comfy, this is going to be a purrfect conversation!

KM: Welcome to the chat, Veronica! I’m so paw-sitively excited to have you here! Tell us a little about yourself—what’s your backstory?

VP: Hi Kitty! Thanks so much for having me! I’m an indie fantasy author. I’m drawn to stories that wrestle with good and evil, exploring the hidden spaces in between. Writing is a way for me to ask big questions that don’t always have easy answers. My world is filled with books, notebooks, and—of course—a very insistent cat who keeps me grounded while I’m off exploring mythic realms.

KM: A very insistent cat, huh? You mean you’ve got a feline sidekick too? I’m not surprised. Fantasy sounds like such an exciting genre to dive into! So, how did you get started on your writing journey? What made you put your paw to the pen, so to speak?

VP: It all began with a question that haunted me. What if we heard the Devil’s story from his own perspective? That curiosity grew into pages, and before I knew it, I was building an entire mythic world. I didn’t set out to become an author; the story demanded to be told. So, I just followed where it led!

KM: Meow—that’s a question that really gets your whiskers twitching! But okay, before I dive into all the juicy details, tell me, who are some of your favorite authors? I need to know where you’re getting your cat-like imagination from.

VP: I’m inspired by writers who balance the imaginative with the profound. C.S. Lewis blends philosophy with storytelling. John Milton’s Paradise Lost—what an epic! I also love contemporary thinkers like Eckhart Tolle. Neale Donald Walsch also provides deep insights. They explore the spiritual questions of life. Oh, and I admire indie authors who aren’t afraid to tell the stories that others won’t.

KM: Oooh, I love that! It’s always good to have a little bit of deep thinking mixed in with the adventure. So, tell me—what’s a typical day in the life of an author like? I’m guessing it’s not all cat naps and nibbles, right?

VP: Haha, not quite! Some days, the words just tumble out faster than I can type. Other days, I’m slow and steady—editing, revising, or mapping out the next step of the journey. A lot of it is discipline, showing up even when the muse is quiet. But I also make time for reading and reflecting, which always circles back into my stories.

KM: Purrfect! Now, let’s get down to the meat of the fish—your debut novel, ‘The Book of the Devil’! What an achievement! Tell us the story behind the book. How did this devilish idea come about?

VP: The idea came from a simple question: Has the Devil’s story ever truly been told in full? In most traditions, he’s cast as the villain, but what if that’s only part of the story? What if his fall was about more than just disobedience—what if it was a struggle with pride, loyalty, and love? From that question, Nahar came to life. It’s a mythic world filled with Jinn, angels, and divine forces. And here, the Devil (as Iblis) gets to speak for himself for the first time.

KM: That’s a claw-some concept! I’m already hooked! What do you want readers to know about your book? Anything you’d like them to take away from it?

VP: Well, it’s not a book that glorifies darkness. Instead, it confronts choice—things like free will, forgiveness, pride, and rebellion. These aren’t just abstract concepts in the story; they’re part of the human experience too. I hope readers close the book with more questions than answers. I also hope they feel the courage to wrestle with those questions.

KM: Mmm, wrestling with questions… sounds like some real cat philosophy to me! Now, the Devil’s story is controversial. Do you think people are ready to take a closer look at him?

VP: Controversy only proves the power of the story. The Devil is one of the most enduring figures in human imagination, yet we rarely ask why he’s so significant. For me, exploring his story isn’t about endorsing rebellion. It’s about understanding the human heart. This includes its pride, longing for freedom, and wish for belonging. I don’t claim to solve the mystery, but I want readers to step into it and ask their own questions.

KM: Paws up—you’re onto something there. Now, what does the future hold for Veronica Preston? What can readers look forward to next?

VP: ‘The Book of the Devil: Genesis’ is the first in a trilogy, and the journey doesn’t stop there. The next two books—Purgatory and Revelation—will dive even deeper into the stakes and choices. Beyond the trilogy, I hope to keep creating stories that are daring, philosophical, and mythic. I want my tales to linger in readers’ minds long after they’ve closed the book.

KM: Oh, I can’t wait to see what’s next! This is going to be one wild ride. Thanks for chatting with me today, Veronica! You’ve made my whiskers tingle with excitement!

Katdid Konversation with Uno & Dos

Hi everyone and welcome to another episode of Katdid Konversation with me, your host, Kitty Mojito!

I am super excited to be welcoming two very special guests today!

KM: Welcome to Katdid Konversations, Uno & Dos! I am so excited to chat with you both today!

U: Thanks for having us, Kitty Mojito! It is nice to see you again!

D: Yes, thank you so much for inviting us for this chat!

KM: Uno, it is nice to see you too! We haven’t had a chance to catch up since Edmonton International Cat Festival! That sure was fun, wasn’t it? (Uno nods in agreement and high paws Kitty!)

Guys, let’s start by telling us a little bit about yourself and how you came to find your human?

U: I am 11 years old and I am originally from Minnesota.  I was about 2 years old and wandering around a dumpster when I heard a human meow at me. I was underweight and had bacteria in both my ears, so I meowed back and ran up to her. She took me to her apartment to find my “family,” but when she realized I had no microchip (and after no one responded to the “missing” posts she put online), her home became my FURever home!

D: I am almost 3 years old and from California. I was only a few weeks old when I was abandoned at a park. I was scared, so I followed an indoor/outdoor cat to their home, and then sat outside their human’s front door until they let me in. These humans didn’t have enough space to keep me, so they contacted Kat (who wanted a second cat). After a successful playdate with Uno (the cat she’s had for 8+ years), Kat officially adopted me and Uno accepted me as his long-lost brother. 

KM: That is amazing. You both had rough starts to your lives but now have a wonderful, forever home! Can you describe a day in your life?

U: I usually start my day laying next to my human’s head and purring as loud as possible until she wakes up and gets me wet food. Since my human works from home, I usually spend the day sleeping next to her while she works. After she finishes her workday, she usually takes me out for a walk or on an adventure to meet other people and pets. In the evening, I split my time between taking naps and wrestling with Dos.

D: I start my day sleeping in until I see my human start her workday. Throughout her workday, I like to meow at her and attack her feet whenever she seems like she’s on an important call. After she finishes her workday, she takes me on an outdoor leashed walk. Then, I spend the rest of the evening playing and wrestling with my brother, Uno.

KM: Let’s talk about 2 very important things, food and toys! Now, do you each have a favourite food and toy?

U: I love wet food! As for toys,  I prefer going on outdoor leashed walks and wrestling with Dos, but sometimes when I see Dos really get into a toy, I like to steal it from him and play with it.

D: I really enjoy dry food and yes, Uno does steal my toys once in a while! I LOVE STRING TOYS AND TOYS THAT MAKE A LOT OF NOISE. MY FAVORITE TIME TO PLAY WITH MY LOUD TOYS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN MY HUMAN IS TRYING TO SLEEP.

U: Calm down, boy! You are going make Kitty Mojito go deaf with all this yelling! Yes, we all know you LOVE your noisy toys! Geez!

KM: You boys are so funny! What do you both do for fun?

U: I like going on outdoor leashed walks. I love meeting new people and getting pets and attention. I also like wrestling with my younger brother and showing him who the boss is.

D: I love playing with toys, sitting on the patio and keeping an eye on the neighborhood, looking out windows and spying on the neighbors, and wrestling with my brother.

KM: Let’s talk about your sibling relationship. What is the dynamic like between the two of you?

U: For me, it feels like we knew each other in another life. We like each other. We usually sleep within a few feet of each other. We cuddle. We play wrestle. We love each other!

D: I think Uno is the best big brother ever! Even though he is older, he still plays with me! I love him so much!

KM: That is so sweet! What a lovely bond you have with each other! Now, we know you are social media superstars! How do you handle the fame? What do you like/don’t like about social media?

U & D: We like social media. You can use it to learn more about the world around you. You can use it to gather information and learn to become the best pet (or person) you can be & better serve the world around you. As for being superstars! LOL… the best thing about it is that we get to spend more time with our human because we get to make content together! ❤️

KM: Yes, social media can be amazing! If you both could make one wish, what would it be?

U & D: We would wish for all cats (and people) to always have good food and a safe place to call home.

KM: Is there anything you would like to accomplish in the near future?

U: We hope our content continues to entertain and encourage folks to be the best pet parents they can be.

KM: I think all your fans can agree that your content brings great joy! We love watching your videos! Finally, before we wrap things up, what is one message you would like to share with the world?

U & D: It doesn’t matter how many ears you have on your head, all that matters is the love you have in your heart ❤️

Katdid Konversation with Cappy

Hello friends and welcome to another episode of Katdid Konversation with me, Kitty Mojito!

Today, we are welcoming a very special guest, our dear furriend Cappy of Cappybears fame!

KM: Cappy, welcome to Katdid Konversations! I am so excited to finally talk to you!

C: I am so happy to be here, Kitty Mojito! Thank you for having me!

KM: Let’s start from the beginning! I know that you are originally from Dubai and now living with your wonderful family in Nashville! How did you come to find your human?

C: I was found alone, paralyzed, in the streets of Dubai! I was taken to a vet clinic, and they saved my life. I had to lose my tail but that is ok! A rescue helped me fly to America where I was in foster care for several months. An Instagram follower sent my mom a DM about me. That was it! They shared a post of me, and it went from there. She applied, and I waited. And then her application was accepted, and I traveled across the country to meet my new mom! I suffer from paresis which is partial paralysis. Don’t be fooled! Special needs kitties like me can live a long and fulfilling life! We just need a little extra help!

KM: Wow, what an origin story! How lucky that you were able to find a forever home with your family! What does your daily life look it?

C: Morning meows and snuggles with my mom, run down the stairs, morning tinkle expression, breakfast, get dressed, snooze, acupuncture appointment, snooze, afternoon tinkles, dinner, family snuggles, evening tinkles, pajamas, and bed, hehe.

KM: That is definitely a busy and fulfilling day! We love watching your daily vlogs! Do you have a favorite treat?

C: I sure do love me some Churus!

KM: Oh yes! We love our tube treats too! They are definitely one of our favourites! From what I have seen on your videos, you enjoy lots of play! If you had to choose one toy to play with, what would that be?

C: My feather wand brings out my inner kitty instincts. My mind is nourished, and spirit feels so free. 

KM: Amazing! Do you have any special skills?

C: I hold the record for world’s quickest Churu nibbler!

KM: You are so funny, Cappy! I think you are also the world’s best kitty poet since you are so good with your words! When you are not eating Churus, what do you like to do for fun?

C: Snuggle, snooze, snackies! I live the most fulfilled life!

KM: Let’s talk about siblings. Now, I know you lost your brother, Lele, not too long ago. He was so special, wasn’t he?

C: Yes, I miss him so much, every single day. He was the best brother! We shared a wonderful relationship! Now, I have a younger brother, Hadley. Hadley Bear is a rescue dog from the local shelter. We have mutual respect for one another, but I still can get a little spooked. I’m just a little kitty, after all! I’ve never been an older brother before, and setting an example is very important. Sometimes, my mom clips my claws in front of Hadley to show it is okay. He continues to build his confidence each day. I am very impressed.

KM: It is so lovely to see the relationship you have with Hadley grow daily. Sometimes, it is hard to adjust to a new sibling. I am still having trouble with my big brother, Lynx, who joined us about 5 years ago. Cappy, you are super famous, with almost 2M followers across your social media channels! What do you like or don’t like about social media?

C: Social media is a great way for me to sparkle and shine like the star I am. I have no complaints. 

KM: You got that right! You are definitely a star! Your mom is a great advocate for special needs kitties and that makes you a role model to all of us! If you could make one wish, what would it be?

C: I wish for all humans to experience life with their soul pet.

KM: That is so sweet! Before we wrap up, tell us about something you would like to accomplish in the near future and also your message to the world?

C: I really love this life!  I hope to encourage and inspire others to take a chance on caring for disabled animals. It is really important that we give disabled pets a chance and open our homes and hearts!

KM: Absolutely! We should all be more open to adopting disabled, special needs and senior pets! They deserve a forever home and a life of safety and love. Thank you so much Cappy! This was such a wonderful chat! Look forward to seeing you and Hadley flourish even more!

Katdid Konversation with Princess Honeybelle

Welcome to another episode of Katdid Konversations! I am your host, Kitty Mojito!

Today, we have an extra special guest all the way from Melbourne, Australia! You may know her as an award winning, world-renowned baker, fashionista & celebrity! Say hello to Princess Honeybelle!

KM: Welcome to Katdid Konversations, Honey! You have no idea how excited I am to chat with you! I have been a fan for so long!!

H: Thanks so much for inviting me, Kitty! I am so happy to be here!

KM: Wow! I am fan-girling so hard! Lynxy will be so mad that he is missing out on this chat! He is obsessed with you! First of all, let me congratulate you on your AiMCO awards and for being featured on TIME Magazine! What an accomplishment!

H: Thank you so much! We are so grateful for being recognized for all our hard work!

KM: Let’s go back to the beginning! How did you come to find your humans?

H: I was at a shelter/vet with my 2 sisters and brother, and my pawrents had come in because they had sadly just lost their new kitten. They were there to pick up her memorial paw prints, and they saw and fell in love with me! 

KM: Wow! It was fate that your pawrents found you! It was meant to be! Can you describe a day in your life?

H: I like to start my mornings with a little singing, followed by some professional door climbing and parkour. Once my pawrents have woken up and appreciated my skills, I box with my brother, Mocha, while we wait for breakfast to be prepared. Then, I like to lounge on my little pink chair and watch the birds, or sometimes I help my Meowmy bake something in the kitchen and film a video. My brother, Kody and I also go outside to the backyard to get some fresh air and hang out on the grass if the weather is nice. The afternoons are for napping in the sunshine on my pink fluffy bed until dinner time. The rest of the evening is for walking and singing on my cat wheel, which is my favourite thing! I always demand an audience, and I will walk on it for hours. When it gets close to midnight, Meowmy will make me a couch tent and I’ll settle down and sleep, until it’s time to start singing again!

KM: I can definitely relate to the singing! I like to sing and try to play fetch with mama at 2am every morning! But she is always so grumpy about it! Now, as a talented baker, I know you work a lot with food! Do you have a favourite item you like to eat?

H: I LOVE liquid cat treats, and pink cupcake frosting as a special treat!

KM: Frosting!!! Is it yummy??? I have never had it! It sounds delicious! Let’s talk about toys! If you had to choose one toy to play with, what would that be?

H: It would definitely be my favourite plastic milk ring. I carry it around like it’s my baby! 

KM: That is so cute! My favourite is hair ties! I love to toss them around and play fetch with the pawrents! Honey, you and your siblings are worldwide celebrities! Can you share a bit about your journey from household kitties to social media superstars?

H: You are too kind, Kitty! We don’t really see ourselves as celebrities! We are everyday kitties who love to create content to make you smile! Our Meowmy started our page as a way to document my growth and as a fun way to be creative and meet new people! We quickly gained lots of new followers, especially during COVID, and eventually, Meowmy began working on the page full time. We love it, because now, it’s her job to spend so much time with all of us!

KM: That sounds like the best job in the world! We are HUGE fans of your page! Our mama has made many bakes from your recipe videos! When you are not busy making videos, what do you like to do for fun?

H: I love walking around the yard as I just love exploring! I also love to walk on my wheel!

KM: Oh yes! I love exploring too! My favourite thing to do is walk around in the garden area and eat all the grass! Now, I know you have siblings! Tell us a bit about your relationship with them.

H: I have 2 older brothers, Kody and Mocha. Kody is a very protective older brother and looks out for me, but also isn’t afraid to play fight with me! Mocha has always been a little wary of me, and sometimes I bully him around, even though he’s 11 years older! I am only 4 so I am the baby of the family!

KM: We love Kody and Mocha! They are so handsome and so talented, just like you! Instagram is a great place to make friends. What do you like/ don’t like about social media?

H: Social media can be wonderful for finding all the good things about humanity, but it can also highlight the bad things. I love that you can find others to connect with that share your passions, you can learn so much from different cultures and perspectives, and it can help show you that you’re not alone in what you may be experiencing. I don’t like how easy it is for hate to be anonymous and misinformation to spread.

KM: Yes, you are so right! We are so grateful to have met amazing friends like you on social media! We love being part of such a great cat community. But it does make us sad that some people just seem to enjoy bringing others down by being so mean! We need more love all around! If you could make one wish, what would it be?

H: I would wish that no kitty ever experiences any pain or sadness.

KM: That is a wonderful wish, Honey! Let’s pray that it comes true! Is there anything you would like to accomplish in the near future?

H: I am planning on writing a cookbook this year!

KM: OMG! I cannot wait to get my paws on a copy! You heard it here first, folks! THERE IS A PRINCESS HONEYBELLE COOKBOOK IN THE WORKS!!!! Before we wrap up this wonderful chat, what is one message you would like to share with the world?

H: Please adopt from a shelter/rescue & spay/ neuter your pets! If you can’t adopt at the moment, support them with a monetary donation or with much needed supplies like food & litter. If you can’t donate money, volunteer your time. Every little bit helps to save and improve the lives of cats. 💖

Katdid Konversation with Peanut

Welcome to another exciting episode of Katdid Konversations!

I am your host, Kitty Mojito!

Today, we are chatting with the fun and fashionable Peanut, a two-year-old Sphynx, who recently moved to Edmonton from Vancouver!

KM: I am so excited to chat with you, Peanut! Welcome to Katdid Konversations!

P: Thanks so much for having me, Kitty! It is lovely to finally meet you!

KM: Let’s start from the beginning. Can you share with us about how you came to find your human?

P: Mom says that I was the result of a series of fortunate events, whatever that means. My humans were at a time in their life where they needed me and *poof* there I was!  

KM: Wow! Talk about great timing! What an amazing turn of events! What does your daily life look like?

P: Honestly, my day is pretty average for a cat, lots of eating, sleeping, and zoomies. One thing that sets my life apart would be that I have outfit changes every morning. It’s funny because my outfit dictates my mood for the day. A onesie makes me calm; a neck tube makes me feel tough, a crop top gives me confidence, and being naked makes me goofy!

KM: Anyone who follows your IG @littlefellapeanut, know how fashionable you are with your extensive closet collection! I really enjoy seeing all those different outfits! Do you have a favourite food?

P: Meowgurts!! That’s what we call Churu tubes!

KM: Oh yum! Those are delicious! We are obsessed with them too! If you had to choose one toy to play with, what would that be?

P: I will always choose whichever toy Ollie is currently playing with.

KM: Ha! Ha! You are a typical sibling! LOL! Speaking of siblings, tell us a little bit about your relationship with yours.

P: My big brother Ollie is 11 years older than me. I am a bully to him, we both agree it is not nice, but I can’t help myself, he is really fun to chase. He is the kindest and gentlest old man; it is really tough being his bully.

KM: I totally understand the feeling. I have a big brother whom I love to bother too! But we all know bullying is not nice and we should be kinder to our siblings! Peanut, do you have any special skills?

P: Yup, anything a dog can do, I can do better. I am great on my leash and playing fetch across the house. I can even steal trash from the can and drink from the toilet. I’ve also been known to growl and bark, especially when playing.

KM: Wow! So many skills! What a talented kitty you are! What do you like to do for fun?

P: I used to love having outdoor meetups with my Vancouver cat friend group, but nowadays I have resorted to playing dangly toys inside while the flurries fly outside. I’m hoping to get outside this spring and summer and hang out with some of my new Edmonton cat pals!

KM: Yes! We can’t wait to hang out with you and all our other YEG pals once the weather is nicer! There are so many amazing parks we can chill out at! Speaking of friends, Instagram is a great place to make friends. What do you like/ don’t like about social media?

P: I have nothing but love for Instagram and the friends I have made there. I was the first Sphynx in the family so my Mom made my Instagram account to show friends and family how I was doing. It grew into something SO much bigger. We have made lifelong connections with some really special people and cats all over the world and had the opportunity to try new and exciting things! Any negative experience we have had has turned into something positive in the end. Shout out to my Peanut Pals, always showing up to support me!

KM: It is always great to have a support group! We love our YEG adventure group pals which you are now part of!! If you could make one wish, what would it be?

P: I would wish for the real world to be as beautiful and kind as the #catsofinstagram world! It is possible to love and accept each other for who we are, with no conditions! If we are using the word “one” loosely, I would also wish for more wishes.

KM: You are too funny, Peanut! Such a comic! Is there something you would like to accomplish in the near future?

P: I  would like to go outside again! Go away winter!! As soon as the snow is gone, I am going shopping for a new scratching post!

KM: Fun! One can never have enough scratching posts! Before we end, what is one message you would like to share with the world?

P: You matter, and you deserve all the good things that life has to offer. If you need a friend to talk to, slide into my DMs! I may be goofy when I’m naked, but I am also a great listener.

Katdid Konversation with Sapphire

Hello! It’s me, Kitty Mojito! I am here with my new friend, Sapphire! Let’s chat!

KM: Hi Sapphire! Welcome to Katdid Konversations! I am very excited to have you here!

S: Hi Kitty Mojito! Thank you for inviting me to share my story!

KM: You have a beautiful name! Sapphire, tell us how you found your human?

S: Through Instagram! Our meowmy, Stephanie fell in love with us and adopted all three of us! Our little brother, Onyx crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022. Our meowmy, Stephanie crossed the rainbow bridge in December 2023! So my sister, Pearl and myself are hoping to find a new furrever family!

KM: I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Onyx and your meowmy! I am sure you and Pearl miss them so much! It is so hard to lose the ones you love! Can you describe a day in your life now?

S: I used to live in a nice house in Sacramento. My meowmy, Stephanie loved the colour grey and a lot of the house matched my beautiful coat! Now, I live with JR, who is caring for us temporarily until we find our forever home. I spend most of my day, cozy in the big purple fleecy bed in my room and when the door is closed, I play with toys and sit on the desk chair! I especially like playing between 3-5am!

KM: It sounds like JR is taking great care of you! I am glad you have a safe place to stay! Playing at 3am is also my favourite! Let’s hear about your favourite food! What do you enjoy eating to keep up your strength?

S: I like kibbles and wet food! Yum!

KM: Oh yes! I love wet food too! Although, I must say, I do love my treats too! Do you have a favourite toy to play with?

S: I like automated toys! They are so much fun! Have you tried them, Kitty?

KM: Oh yes! My favourite is robo-fishes! I love to watch them swim in the tub! Do you have any special skills?

S: Like my sister, Pearl, I am very proficient in most office related tasks, but JR keeps removing all the perfectly distributed cat litter from her desk and keyboard!

KM: Ha ha! That is too funny! Our mama isn’t too thrilled about surprise litter on keyboards either! Sapphire, what do you like to do for fun?

S: I really like playing with feather teasers! I also like being brushed and it makes me purr!

KM: Being brushed is amazing, isn’t it? Now, I know you have a sister so tell us a little bit about your relationship with her.

S: My sister Pearl is my best friend although we don’t snuggle together much at JR’s house. We used to snuggle on the bed with our meowmy, Stephanie. We miss her so much!

KM: I am so sorry! I am sure your meowmy is looking out for you both every day from over the bridge! We hope that being on social media will help you both find a forever home soon! What do you like or don’t like about social media?

S: I love making new friends, both on Instagram and in person. I hope it can help bring some leads on finding a forever home. Anyone interested in adopting us can fill out the paperwork on @feralchange.

KM: I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and Pearl! Before we wrap up, what would you like to accomplish in the near future and what is your message to the world?

S: I would like to lose a few pounds! My message would be to Adopt! Don’t Shop! There are many beautiful and talented kitties out there so please adopt! Please share about Pearl and me and help us find a forever home together!

Katdid Konversation with Pearl

We are so excited to re-introduce our favourite segment ‘Katdid Konversations’ with a very special interview! I am your host, Kitty Mojito!

Please give a warm welcome to Pearl from Oakland, California!

KM: Pearl, a very warm welcome to Katdid Konversations! Thank you for chatting with me today!

Pearl: Thank you so much for having me today! I am very excited to be the first guest at your relaunch!

KM: Great to have you here. Pearl, I understand that you are 4.5 years old and live in Oakland, California! Can you tell me a bit about your life and how you came to find your human?

Pearl: Of course! Our mother dropped me, my sister and brother, in front of someone’s parked car on Camellia Street in Oakland.  We were taken in as a shared responsibility by three neighbors (@jrc2011, @aofner and Beate). JR created our Instagram account and partnered with @feralchange. Our adopter, Stephanie, adopted all three of us. Sadly, Stephanie passed away last Christmas Eve at 41.  We are now seeking our new furrever home and staying with JR temporarily.

KM: Oh, that is so devastating to lose your human! I am so sorry! I am glad you are all safe with JR! After this terrible loss, how has your life changed?

Pearl: My life has changed a lot in the last two months.  My uncle Andrew took us from our Sacramento home to his house in Paso Robles and then back to Oakland. My sister and I have our own room but other cats keep coming in and looking at us or trying to take her food. One of them sniffed me while I was asleep the other day! So insulting!

KM: That does sound annoying. I am glad you are together with your siblings though! Do you have a favorite food?

Pearl: I like kibbles. I’m getting accustomed to the food that JR keeps feeding me but it’s not really my favorite. She just doesn’t know.

KM: Well, now that you shared about it, I am sure JR will feed your favourite foods! Let’s hope she is listening! What about toys? Is there something in particular that you love?

 Pearl: I like catnip toys. Right now, it just seems like any toy in my own home would be better.

KM: I hope that there is someone out there who can give you a forever home! It is always nice to be in a place of your own! Pearl, do you have any special skills?

Pearl: I am very proficient at most office related tasks, but JR will not let me use her computer!

KM: I tell you, the nerve of these humans! All we want to do is help them do their job right and they won’t even let us do that! What do you like to do for fun? 

Pearl: I like playing with feather teasers! 

KM: You talked about your siblings at the beginning of your chat! I understand that your little brother, Onyx crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022. I am so sorry to hear that. Tell me about your relationship with your sister.

Pearl: My sister, Sapphire is my best friend, but we don’t snuggle together much at JR’s house. I like the cat tree and Sapphire likes the fleecy bed under JR’s desk. We used to sit on the back of the sofa and look out the front window at the birds at our home in Sacramento. We like sitting in the sunlight.

KM: That sounds lovely! It is always nice to have a sibling who you like! I, for one, am not fond of my brother, Lynx! I will save that story for later! Instagram is a great place to make friends. What do you like/ don’t like about social media?

Pearl: We need more friends. We are very sad without our human!

KM: Oh Pearl, I hope that everyone who reads this will reach out to be friends with you and Sapphire! Better yet, hope they can find a forever home for you both together! I think I already know the answer to this but if you could make one wish, what would it be?

Pearl: I wish that Sapphire and I could find our furrever home! 

KM: I am sure the purrfect home is out there for you both and it will come your way soon! Before we end, what is one message you would like to share with the world?

Pearl: Adopt, don’t shop! Reach out to your local shelters and rescues and give a kitty a forever home! There are many beautiful and talented kitties like my sister and I who need your love!

KM: That is a great message! I hope that all the humans out there take that to heart! Pearl, thank you so much for taking time to chat with me today! I hope that you and Sapphire find a lovely forever home soon!

Katdid Konversation With Olivia

We have a wonderful guest here at Katdid Konversations today!

Say hello to a sweet and beautiful kitty from La Jolla California.. This is Olivia!

KM: It is so lovely to have you here with me, Olivia! We have become great friends so I am so excited to find out more about you! Can you tell me how you came to find your human?

O: My Meowmy came into the shelter one day after my dearly departed brother, Tyler passed over the 🌈  rainbow bridge. I was hiding in the back of my cage, on the top row of cages and as soon as Meowmy and I locked eyes, I crept Furward and she opened the cage and picked me up and I felt love and security that I had never felt beFUR.

KM: That is so wonderful! Describe a day in your life.

O: I sleep in Meowmy’s bed all night. We wake up and I get breakfast. Next, I walk around my home, looking for sun spots and then I take a nap. The rest of my day is spent resting and waiting for Meowmy to return. I look at the birds and hummingbirds outside. I also work  with my Pawtner Nugget at the Meow Matchmaking Service! We started this company together and are very proud to match kitties looking for l♥️ve with each other! We even made the cover of Forbes magazine! Please see our prior posts on Instagram! When Meowmy comes home, I must sit on her lap for awhile because I’ve missed her so much and I still suffer from abandonment issues. I get my dinner and play with Meowmy before bed.

KM: Sounds like you have your routine down to a T! What is your most favourite kind of food?

O: I’ve gotten very picky lately, so I’ll have to get back to you on that!

KM: Fair enough! I am fairly picky myself so I hear ya, sister! If you had to choose one toy to play with, what would that be?

O: I do love my catnip toys that my friends in Europe sent me! I think they have special catnip there! 

KM: Hmm, they must! I got a gift from Germany and I love that toy so much! Do you have a specific sense of style?

O: As Coco Chanel said, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”. Therefore, I believe in keeping my fur coat soft and conditioned and my only accessory is a collar with a jewel hanging from it. To date, I have 14 collars that I wear. I have my own jewelry box for them. They are insured by Lloyd’s of London.

KM: Oh you are such a stylish girl. You look beautiful in everything you wear! What are your thoughts on dogs and other animals?

O: I absolutely love and treasure all of my Instagram furry friends, however in real life, I am not a fan. My time in the shelter scared me and it was so noisy! I never had any privacy. Besides we all know that dogs drool and cats RULE!

KM: Haha! Truer words were never spoken! If you could make one wish, what would it be?

O: I wish that all creatures were as lucky and blessed as I am.

KM: So Liv, when you are not running a business and being a style icon, what do you do to relax and chill out?

O: I get massages from Meowmy. I love being groomed and brushed. I also love cuddling with my BF Usko in front of the fireplace and watching Catflix.

KM: Yes, Catflix has some great programs for sure. Do you have any special skills?

O: Werking the 📷?

KM: Well, you are doing a great job! What do you value most in life?

O: ♥️ ….. Love is all you need!

KM: What is your opinion about social media?

O: I love that my Meowmy and I have made furry friends from all over the world! We are blessed to know that there are so many kind, beautiful 2 and 4 legged friends out there.

KM: Do you have a special someone in your life? 

O: My Usko (@usko_the_cat on Instagram). He is the most wonderful BF ever! He is handsome, kind, loving and intelligent! He is my everything and my Furrever Valentine.

KM: You two are just so adorable and make the purrfect couple! If you were to go on a date, what would a perfect day/night look like?

O: I enjoy just spending time with my Usko. We like to watch meowvies in front of the fireplace and sip 🐟🍸 (tunatinis) while snacking on 🍱 (sushi). We believe that time spent with loved ones is the meowst important thing.

KM: What would you like to accomplish in the near future?

O: I have already written my memoir and am now working on a story about the l♥️ve my Usko and I have for each other.  My Usko is so talented with his paws and is illustrating our book.

KM: That is so exciting! I can’t wait to read it! Do you have anything else you would like to say?

O: I would like to thank you for your furry friendship! You are a beautiful, furry friend on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside where it really matters. I believe that humans could learn a lot about how to treat each other from the way we interact on Instagram!  Us kitties are always supportive of one another, we celebrate our successes and share in our sadness. We invite everyone to our pawties and remember one another’s birthdays and Adoptoversaries.  Also, Adopt Don’t Shop! Let L♥️VE Rule!

Katdid Konversation With Harvey

Welcome to another great edition of Katdid Konversations!

I am your host, Kitty Mojito!

It is a cold and snowy Sunday here in the Canadian prairies and I am chatting with Harvey, a 2.5 year old kitty from Cleveland, Ohio!

KM: Thanks so much for joining me today, Harvey! Shall we start by talking about how you came to find your human?

H: My Mama fostered me when I came in as an injured kitten..3 weeks old…to the Cleveland Animal Protective League where she works.

KM: Can you describe a day in your life?

H: Most days, I’m playing with my brothers and sisters. We are all rescues. Mama saved us in one way or another. I have 9 ‘siblings’ ages 2 – 15. I love chasing my sister Grover the best. She’s fun. Occasionally, she hisses at me but most times she will chase me back. I love treats and before Mama goes to work and when she comes home, we all line up in the kitchen to get some. I was attacked by ‘something’ when I was a baby so I have half my left cheek missing. It makes for eating difficulties as food and water tend to fell out the hole in my face. But no matter what, Mama cleans it for me daily and even though I have ‘stink mouth’ as Mama calls it, she still loves me and makes sure I know it. 

KM: What a wonderful Mama you have! It is so lucky that she found you all! What is your most favourite kind of food?

H: I love Fancy Feast wet food. We all get a small amount for breakfast every morning. Catnip Temptations are my FAV treat!!

KM: OOh I love those treats too!! But I can’t eat much of them now due to my sensitive tummy! If you had to choose one toy to play with, what would that be?

H: Hard decision because I love all toys….but I’d have to say I love catnip toys the best and the Yeowwww Catnip Bananas are Pawesome!! 

KM: Yes! I call it an iBanana and use it to call my furriends! Do you have a specific sense of style?

H: Style? I just move on in and take over, mostly when someone else is on Mama’s lap!!! I just crawl on over and lay as close to her as I can. I am a talker so when I want Mama’s attention, I just loudly ‘Meowwwww’ and she calls me!

KM: That is definitely interesting. I was thinking more of personal style as in clothes but your personality style definitely gets attention for sure! What are your thoughts on dogs and other animals?

H: I’ve never lived with doggies…but I love playing with my kitty family. When Mama brings home other kittens to foster, I like playing with them too. Although, at times, I think they get too much of Mama’s attention!

KM: It is nice that you are so kind to your foster kitty family! I am sure they could use lots of love! If you could make one wish, what would it be?

H: I wish I had a full cheek on the left side of my face. It makes for some dental issues without having a ‘normal’ kitty face..and I always have to have Mama clean the ‘gunk’ off my cheek. It would be better if I could eat like other kitties. But Mama says she loves me just the way I am…and if I hadn’t been brought in with the injury, Mama might not have been there to foster me! So I guess it all happened for a reason.

KM: Your positivity is very inspiring, Harvey! Everything DOES happen for a reason! And I think you are just perfect just the way you are! What do you do to relax and chill out?

H: Whenever Mama sits on the couch, I jump up on her lap!  She is always so warm and I love cuddling up there with her.

KM: Do you have any special skills?

H: Yes, if you count eating and spitting it out all at the same time? LOL!

KM: I don’t see why that can’t be a skill!!! LOL! What do you value most in life?

H: My Mama. She takes such good care of me and my brothers and sisters. We are all very lucky kitties to be with her.

KM: Most definitely! She sounds like a lovely mama! What is your opinion about social media?

H: I love watching and keeping track of all the kitties around the world. It’s fun and I get to know how others live and meet lots of nice humans and their kitties.

KM: Very true! There are so many kitty friends out there! Do you have a special someone in your life? If so, please tell us a bit about them.

H: Of course…My Mama..silly! But if you mean other kitties, Yes!  Grover is the one I love the most. She is a bit younger than me and is a Selkirk Rex/Scottish Fold. She has a lot of curly black fur. When we play, I love chasing her and when I catch her, I nibble on her curly fur on her neck!! Mama says she doesn’t like it but she doesn’t run and always continues to chase me back.

KM: She sounds like a fun gal! If you were to go on a date, what would a perfect day/night look like?

H: I would have a nice quiet dinner of Fancy Feast Grilled Chicken, some nice ice cold fresh water with ice cubes and then go curl up with Grover on a nice comfy blanket by the Electric Fireplace.

KM: Ooh! That sounds so cozy and romantic! What would you like to accomplish in the near future?

H: I’d love to meet other kitties from around the world. I love rescue stories of others that have been saved by nice humans.

KM: Do you have anything else you would like to say?

H: I feel honored that you asked to interview me. I love my life with Mama although it does have a few complications. I’m so happy you love kitties too because that’s how Mama met you. She likes being on that Instagram and Facebook thing, meeting new people and showing pics of us. I think she is going to start her own page with just US on it!  I like that idea! I think we are all Purrfect!!

KM: It has been so much fun chatting with you Harvey! I am so glad your mama found you and gave you a wonderful life!
