Halloween 2018

I know it’s been a while since I blogged and I really want to make a conscious effort to blog more!

Let’s start by sharing some Halloween photos of Miss. Kitty Mojito!

This is one of our favourites! She just looks so perfect in her poncho and sombrero!

This look is called Witchy Wonder Woman!

Are you sharking in your boots yet?

It’s Lobster Time!

A good ol’ pumpkin!

Just a few tips if you are dressing up your pet for Halloween.

  1. Do not force your pet into a costume. If they are uncomfortable or in any discomfort, remove the costume immediately.
  2. Stick to costumes that are not too complicated. Simple skirts or shirts are easy to wear. Head gear is complicated especially for cats since they don’t like things over their ears. Kitty Mojito tolerates it for a minute or two!
  3. Keep your cat calm by offering pets and treats!
  4. As soon as you get some photos, please take the costume off your pet!
  5. Most importantly, know your pet and their temperament. Some animals are more tolerant of dressing up than others. Don’t compare! Your pet’s comfort should be your priority!

Instagrammable Walls Photo Walk – 118 Avenue

We had the pleasure of joining 50 Edmontonians on a super fun photo walk on June 23rd 2018 to explore street art and wall murals along 118 Avenue in Edmonton. We decided to take Kitty along with us to make it a fun adventure for her.FB_IMG_1529796522852.jpg

We started driving out to the meet up point. It was a bit of a drive from our home and Kitty is not a fan of car rides. She whined and drooled the entire way there. She wanted to sit on Jesse’s lap (not safe while driving!). Eventually, she settled for just holding his hand LOL

Once we got there, we got Kitty into her stroller and joined the crowd that was gathered there. After a short introductory speech by the organizer Linda, we started to head up the street towards our first wall!

Below are some of the fabulous street art and wall murals we saw on our 2 hour walk! Enjoy!

It was so wonderful to see such amazing wall murals in our city. We have never seen any of them before! It goes to show that sometimes you have to walk off the beaten path to find beauty!

We all had a really great time and we hope to join the next Photo walk to explore another part of Edmonton.

Kitty Mojito Goes To The Pond

Summer is one of my favourite seasons! When the skies are blue, the sun is out and the breeze makes the temperature just right, it brings me so much joy!

Kitty loves to be outside so this is the perfect opportunity to explore our neighbourhood and take her out on some adventures. And if you live in the Prairies, you have to take advantage of this weather as it doesn’t last long!

A week ago, Kitty took a morning stroll up to one of the many ponds in our neighbourhood. Here are some of the highlights!

We left home around 8am and hopped into the elevator to make our way out to the trail!

One of the great things about our neighbourhood is that there are so many wonderful trails with great ponds and water features.

Kitty really enjoys being inside the stroller as opposed to being carried in her backpack because the stroller allows her to move around a bit more freely and she has a 360 degree view of everything.

The closest trail is about a 5 minute walk from our home and along the way she likes to listen to the birds chirp and watch cars drive by. I usually take her through the back alleys in order to avoid the traffic on the main road.

We got to the pond in about 5 minutes and we sat on the bench, waiting to see if any ducks or geese come by.

We saw some geese just chilling out on the grass! (PS I couldn’t get a photo but if you watch the YouTube video, you can see it). Of course, we keep our distance and give them space. Kitty loves to listen to the sounds of the ducks and the geese. She is usually quite calm as we sit and enjoy nature.

It is important to state that I do not let her out of the stroller because the trails can get busy with people walking their dogs. Safety is key!

On our walk back home, we stopped to smell the beautiful flowers that have bloomed in vibrant colours. Her curious mind was going a mile a minute as she took in everything that was happening around her!

This was Kitty’s first real outing of the season and we hope to take many more adventures before this beautiful weather comes to an end.

Check out the YouTube video of our day at the pond!

Kitty Mojito’s 6th Birthday!

I, Kitty Mojito, celebrated my 6th birthday on April 1st 2018!

Mama asked me to choose a theme for this year’s party so I picked a Pink and Turquoise “Sparkle and Shine” party!

I was super excited to go to PetSmart to pick my party dress and Mama got some great decorations to set up a wonderful party table! I had 3 of my friends over on the 1st of April and we had cake and treats and even some goodies for the humans!

Enjoy some photos from my epic party!
