Holiday Fundraisers

It’s been about a month since I opened the Etsy store and I am so glad to see it doing well.

The cat community of Instagram have really embraced all the products I have on there! The bandannas have been a big hit and the book and art work have been doing well too!! So amidst all this, I decided to continue my tradition of doing a holiday fundraiser!

If you remember, last year I did gift packs for several local rescues. This year my fundraising focused on two special kitties… One named Ollie and the other named Buddy.

I came to know about these two kitties through Instagram. Let me share about them!

Ollie is a little kitty who needed help to pay for a liver operation to fix a congenital defect. He has a GoFundme page set up so I decided to do a small fundraiser to contribute to that. I ended up raising about $25 towards this.

Buddy is a sweetheart who got hit by a car and ended up with a broken jaw and other severe injuries. His mama wanted to desperately save his life! This required lots of surgery and continuous vet visits! Of course, this means they need as much help with funding as possible so last weekend I held a 2 day fundraiser for Buddy. All sales made through the Etsy store was going to be donated to Buddy and I must say it was a great success! I ended up making about $120!

It made me and Kitty so happy to be able to do something good to help these two lovable cats and hopefully they both make a full recovery!

Project Update #1

Hello everybody! I just wanted to give you all a quick update as to how things are coming along with my new book project!!! I have had some great responses and have about 11 stories put together so far!

I still have room for another 10 or so stories so please make sure to get in touch if you would like your kitties featured on the book.

A little request…. when you send me emails with the stories, please make sure to include the following :

  • 3 clear photos of each kitty (high resolution if possible)
  • A little history on the kitty and how you found them.
  • A bit on kitty’s personality, their favourite things like food, toys etc and a day in the life of the kitty…. what is an average day like for them….

I am hoping to do a pre-print of the book this weekend to see how the picture quality turns out so if you want to get those stories to me sooner, that would be great!

New Project In The Works!

Hello Friends!

I have been thinking of doing something fun for the upcoming holiday season and I came up with an idea of doing a little book of Kitty & friends…..!

It would be a book full of photos and stories of kitties who have been adopted from rescues and shelters. Tt would be an opportunity to give thanks and a shout out to the rescues as well!

Once the book is ready, I am hoping to sell it and have all the proceeds from it go to various local rescues. I haven’t picked which rescues to donate towards yet. I know a few organizations that build shelters for feral colonies so that those kitties are warm and safe during winter. This would be a great project to contribute to….

If you have any suggestions and ideas about this project, please let me know:) I would love to get some feedback!!

Art Auction Coming Soon!

I am having a online Art Auction from May 1 – May 8th ….

I will have some of the pieces featured here on the SHOP page as well as several new pieces!

50% of all sales will be donated to The Pet’s Pantry Society, a local pet food bank that works with local animal rescues and provides them with much needed food and supplies so that the rescues can put their funding into critical medical care.

Head Full Of Thoughts!

Life has kept me busy since the start of this year but I see it slowing down pretty soon (not to my liking I must admit!) Why you ask? Well, I will be job hunting AGAIN in a few weeks! Yes, it sucks to be unemployed however I am sure something great will be coming my way soon (fingers crossed!)

Sometimes I think it would be great to find something that I can do from home that would pay me a truckload of money! But I guess no one will pay me to be a full time pet parent LOL!

A.N.Y.W.A.Y…. As I spend my time sending out resumes, I was thinking of coming up with some ideas to do another mini fundraiser….

I would like to get some thoughts and ideas from my readers (I hope you are out there!!!)

What would you like to see as a fundraiser? 50-50 draw? Selling some cool pet items? An auction? Let me know what you think!

Fundraiser for the Hervey Foundation for Cats

I am so happy to put together this fundraiser for the Hervey Foundation for Cats!

The Hervey Foundation for Cats is a place of refuge for cats who otherwise would perish: the abandoned, the abused, the sick, the old, the suffering.

All funds raised from the sale of my fabulous pendants ($4 each)as well as these amazing coupon booklets for Pet Planet ($5) will be donated to the foundation.

How can you help?

You can arrange for pick up if you are in the Edmonton area or I can mail it out to any where you are (no cost to you!)

Gift Box #6 – Little Cats Lost

My final gift box is ready for Little Cats Lost (Trap-Neuter-Return) Society.
