Kitty Mojito’s Story!

Hello hoo-mans…

I was just going to have an evening nap but Mama asked me to write something!

She is so busy these days with her new job… she is always studying and doing number stuff at home…. I miss her not being home during the day 😦

Today, I wanted to tell you my story and how I found my Mama and Daddy.

The memories are blurred. I remember being in another city…. I remember being in a place where people were not very nice to me…. They were mean… One day, my tail was broken…. another day, my little whiskers were burnt…. I was so afraid …. so afraid…

Some nice ladies from Whisker Rescue found me….. I was very sad… I don’t remember much of my life back then…I was only 1. But I do remember living in a cage at a store for a long time….. It was ok I guess. At least no one hurt me. I was warm and I had food. But I was still sad….

One day, this man came into the store and was looking at all the kitties … He played with me through the cage… I was so excited that someone talked to me and played with me…. His voice was soft and kind… After a few minutes, he left …. I was sad again… I guess I was going to be alone forever …. What I didn’t know was, that in the next few days, my life was going to change!

The next day, the nice man came back, but this time, he had a lady with him. She was sweet and kind too and she talked to me through the cage… She talked to me for a long time…. Then she walked around the store and started picking up things… The nice man was helping her…. Suddenly, the lady at the store opened my cage!! What??? I was getting out? What’s happening here???

The next thing I knew, I was getting put into a crate and carried into a car…… The nice people were taking me home!!! That day was the happiest day of my life….. I was taken to a nice apartment ….. I spent the day exploring and that night, I slept with the nice people (whom I call Mama and Daddy)in a comfy, warm bed! It was heaven…..

This happened about 3 years ago…. Since then, my life has been amazing!!

So much fun, so much love, so much adventure!!! It can’t get any better than this!

Mama and Daddy are the best thing that has ever happened to me….. !! And that is my story…… Ok Bye……!

Why So Silent?

Hello friends!

It is I! The Crazy Cat Lady!

I apologize for not writing any new blog posts over the past few weeks!

Life has gotten a tad bit hectic since I started a new job! And my weekends are dedicated to catching up on errands, chores and all that other non-fun stuff that needs to get done !

Yeah, being an adult sucks sometimes….

A.N.Y.W.A.Y ……. I just wanted to check back in here and let you all know that I am still around…:) Kitty has been keeping me company and has been helping me around the house so that’s a plus:) She has been wanting to take over the blog for a bit while I deal with my busyness:) I just may let her !;)

We also heard back from the photography place about the video we did….It turns out that we have to go back next month for a retake…. I will update you on that when I know ….

For now I will leave you with these adorable photos of my princess:)

We May Be In A Video!

Kitty and I had the pleasure of being part of a behind the scenes video for a great pet photography company here in town!

Kitty actually won a contest which gave her this opportunity and it was one heck on an experience!!

It was a video about what goes into the making of a pet photography session.

I am not sure if I can give out any more details yet but once I hear back from them, I will share the video:) It will be featured on their website and you will be able to find it on YouTube as well.

It was fun and Kitty (although she was a bit stressed) did great! I was told that they got some great shots and I am so excited to see the photos!

Speaking of photos, I caught Kitty taking some selfies with my phone!! What do you think? Isn’t she just adorable?

Thank You From Aria And Stravyn!

When Kitty had the reins to the blog awhile back, she decided to do some advertising of her own and sent out a bunch of bookmarks to some of her new buddies.

I received these photos from Aria’s daddy, Rob and Stravyn’s papa, Scott.

This is Aria ….. As you can see she is reading the letter that Kitty sent her. 🙂 From what I hear from her daddy, Aria loves mail! I think she must have been thrilled to get this!!

It Is I, Kitty Mojito!

Welcome hoomans

It is I, Miss Kitty Mojito……. Mama is a bit busy so she told me to write something here….

I just woke up from a nap ……….

I was sooo tired from waking up this morning when Daddy was up getting ready for work…….He said it was 4am when he looked at that box that makes a shrilly sound each morning.

I always wake up with him hoping he would give me a treat…. It never happens …. Daddy knows that Mama gives me treats when she is up…… I try to be sneaky and get some from him too ….. But he is smart, that Daddy!

I went back to sleep after he left and woke up again with Mama…. Then she went out, so I went back to sleep… As you can see, I am tuckered out…. When Mama came back, she gave me 2 treats….

I love my Mama, she is very good to me……… I get so many hugs and kisses all day….. Sometimes too many…. Sometimes I just want to be left alone to sleep… but she comes and hugs me….She takes care of me …. My poo box is always clean….. There is always something in that dish where food shows up… I even have a fancy water dish…. Water flows around it … I like it… Mama says I am her precious baby.

I love Daddy too… He works very hard to take care of me and Mama… he wants to make something called ‘mooney’…. Must be some delicious treat because he seems to like it very much…. I hear them talking about it….

Daddy is tired when he gets home at night… but he still plays with me….. I love play fighting with him….. He doesn’t mind when I bit him a bit too hard… only sometimes….. When he annoys me a bit too much….

Ok, enough talking for now.. I have to nap ….. Maybe I will say more later…. Mama says that I have some friends coming over for dinner tonight…. I need to get some rest before that!

Time For A Stroll!

It’s getting to be that time of year when we all want to spend as much time outside as we can….

Spring/Summer is my favourite time of year…. the flowers in bloom, the trees all green, street fairs, farmer’s markets, festivals galore, spending time out on the patio with a cool drink in hand……. ah! life can be perfect! 🙂

This is also the time that I try to go for walks (and an occasional run!) often…. Usually it is just me, sometimes with my husband and occasionally with Kitty 🙂

However, with it being so lovely outside, there are lots of other fur babies enjoying their time out as well. So this year, I thought I would invest in a little pet stroller ! This will allow me to take Kitty out while avoiding any unwanted interactions with those big doggies:)

I got some input from some cat enthusiasts on the various cat groups on Facebook…. spent a few hours online trying to find a good deal and eventually I managed to find a great stroller for a steal of a deal of $30 at a yard sale!

Here are some good tips to keep in mind when shopping for a stroller.

Safety first! This stroller has two safety hooks that can be attached to your pet’s harness

Make sure there is good ventilation all around!

There is enough space inside for her to move around!

This stroller also had a small bonus basket under it! Great to carry any extra treats or water for your trip!

So keep in mind to invest in something that has a sturdy frame, with lots of great ventilation as well as enough space inside so that your furbaby is comfortable … They need to be able to sit up, move around and enjoy the stroll! Extra pockets or baskets for storage is a bonus but not a necessity! The main thing is your pet’s safety and comfort!

Homemade Cat Treats!

So it all started when I was trying to find a cute treat/cake for Kitty’s birthday a few weeks ago…… As I went from one pet store to another, all I found was adorable doggy biscuits and cutely decorated dog cakes !

I mean, look at these! They are just too cute for words!!!

Anyway, my search ended with me coming home empty-handed, meaning I didn’t find anything cute and adorable like the above pictures!

So I had a chat with my buddy Ruby (a fellow cat mom,crazy cat lady and creative genius)the other day and we ended up talking about how there is a lack of specialty cat treats out there!

She had actually made some super adorable cat treats for Kitty awhile back….

So we decided that I try to make some cute home made treats and see how it goes….

The idea is to use very limited ingredients, mainly appeal to a cat’s natural carnivorous diet and make a few different varieties. Kitty and Ruby’s babies Jack and Feo will be the taste testers.

I have found some basic recipes and I am hoping to put my own twist on them…

Edmonton International Cat Festival!

I am soooo soooo excited for this event!!!

It’s the Edmonton International Cat Festival happening on May 28th 2016

The Edmonton International Cat Festival is the only festival of its kind in Canada!

This awesome event brings together cat lovers to celebrate cats and cat culture, while raising money and awareness for important cat rescue organizations!

#YEGCatFest donates 100% of proceeds back to local rescue organizations.

Since 2014,they have raised $39,000 for local rescues helping cats in need! Isn’s that amazing?

There will be tons and tons of fun things happenings here including several vendors with cat themed products, rescue organizations with adoptable cats, cat-themed presentations, exotic breeds and show cats as well as a meet and greet with celebrity cat Nala (https://www.instagram.com/nala_cat/) …. and not forgetting the Mr. and Mrs. Purr-fect photo contest and many more fun activities!!!

Kitty Turns 4!!

Today is a very special day!

Kitty is celebrating her 4th birthday!

I put together a mock ‘cake’ with one of her favourite canned food and topped it with some shrimp and also added some treats around it….And enjoy it she did!!!

And instead of a gift this year (and since she has everything she needs and wants lol!) we decided to buy some canned food and donate it to an animal rescue….
